It is an honor to announce that one of our own has been recognized nationally for her efforts, dedication, and leadership in the world of fire prevention. On September 13, 2022, in front of hundreds of her peers at the International Code Council Convention, Kara Gercynski accepted the Robert W. Gain Fire Prevention Leadership Award from the ICC. This prestigious award represents the highest national honor the Code Council can bestow upon an individual for their work in life safety and fire prevention.

From the ICC website:
The Robert W. Gain Fire Prevention Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and longstanding dedication to the support of fire codes and fire prevention. Kara Gercynski, Division Chief of Fire Prevention and Administration with the Elizabeth Fire Rescue is the 2022 recipient.

Please congratulate Kara and, on behalf of FMAC, thank her for her being such an amazing ambassador for Colorado, FMAC, and the nationwide fire prevention community!

August 31, 2022 the City of Golden turned out en mass at City Hall to thank and congratulate Fire Chief Jerry Stricker on his retirement. During most of his tenure at Golden Fire, Jerry served as Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal. Jerry also spent a number of years deeply envolved with FMAC, serving on the board of directors and as the chair of the nominating committee and the legislative committee. Thank you Jerry for all your service!
