It is an honor to announce that one of our own has been recognized nationally for her efforts, dedication, and leadership in the world of fire prevention. On September 13, 2022, in front of hundreds of her peers at the International Code Council Convention, Kara Gercynski accepted the Robert W. Gain Fire Prevention Leadership Award from the ICC. This prestigious award represents the highest national honor the Code Council can bestow upon an individual for their work in life safety and fire prevention.

The Robert W. Gain Fire Prevention Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and longstanding dedication to the support of fire codes and fire prevention. Kara Gercynski, Division Chief of Fire Prevention and Administration with the Elizabeth Fire Rescue is the 2022 recipient.
