May 4th is known to many as Star Wars Day, but before that it was, and still is, International Firefighters’ Day. A day that pays tribute to all members, former and current, of emergency services. This day has its own ribbon of blue and red. Colors that represent the elements firefighters work with - water and fire.

Every first Sunday of May, fire departments around the world gather at noon - local time - to sound sirens for 30 seconds, and then share a moment of silence for 1 minute. This is in memory of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

This coming Sunday, please take a few moments to remember and honor those firefighters.

This May 4th, among all of the Star Wars related post, please take a few moments and think of those who have served, and those who currently serve in emergency services.

Training Tuesdays. . .

Last night our members participated in Pump Ops Training. This training gives everyone the experience to pump each of our apparatus, which effectively gives each person the ability to move into any position on the fire scene. Rather they’re operating the suppression unit pumping water to the attack lines, or a support unit pumping water to the suppression unit.

What began as a vision on June 13, 2023, now has become a reality as we celebrate the arrival of this truck by placing it into service by performing the modern version of an old tradition.

JOIN US this Saturday, August 2, 2025 at noon for the
'Push-In' ceremony of our newest apparatus, UNIT 245.

Back in the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus, the firefighters had to manually push the units back into the fire houses upon returning from calls. In modern times, we pay homage to those great service members by continuing this tradition, in a modern way, with the arrival of new equipment.

We invite one and all to witness and celebrate this milestone.

Our members are selling these raffle tickets for the

The money raised from this event helps with the upkeep of our trucks and equipment, as well as the purchasing of equipment, gear, fuel, and also goes towards savings for the purchase of new trucks in the future.
