In 1978, the Hood County Historical Commission donated two file cabinets to the Hood County Library. These files contained the Henry Davis papers on Hood County's early families. "Judge Henry" as he was fondly called, was an avid "fact collector" and served as County Judge from 1951 – 1956.
Patrons of the Hood County Library have been able to freely peruse and contribute to the collection for years, but it was getting increasingly hard to maintain order in the files. So in 2012 the Hood County Historical/Genealogical Society decided to start digitizing them.
Now we are happy to announce the project is finally complete. The files can be viewed at the County Library or the Old Granbury Depot. View the County Libraries hours here: http://co.hood.tx.us/library. The Depot is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 PM to 4 PM.
