We're excited to introduce GVT's new mascot: Kevin! Kevin McFerret is a black-footed ferret, a critically endangered animal that is native to Colorado, with a historic range from Mexico to Canada. Why a ferret? Their bodies resemble the shape of a bus, of course! The other reason is inspiration from the bus stop mural by the library downtown that features a black-footed ferret. In our naming process we asked the public for input and received many responses for Kevin! This name is a tribute to Kevin McNutt, who has served GVT for 35 years! Look for the Kevin the BFF at events around Grand Junction and find cute stickers featuring the ferret! 🚌

We'd like to give a warm shout out to Kris who joined us for a senior travel training the other day. Kris is new to GVT but interested in more options to get around town. We rode the bus together and discussed the barriers to getting on the bus for the first time, including how to pay for a ticket, bus timing, and how to let the driver know when your stop is up. If you or a family member would benefit from learning more about our transit system reach out and we'd be happy to help! 🚌🚠🏪🚍
