Thank you 517 Story Project for the opportunity to “tell a little story”. We had a fun time at the first ever 517 story telling event in City of Lansing, Michigan - Government located at the Door Bar. It was exciting seeing all the people who came out and showed up with a story willing to tell. I think there were 10-12 chosen storytellers this time!!!

You don’t have to tell a story to attend btw!!

If you have a story to tell, put your name in the hat to be picked when you arrive at the next event!!!

Even one of my sisters got brave and had her FIRST EVER PUBLIC SPEAKING event… and she NAILED it!!!! Join the fun next month for a new theme, same place and time.

I’m glad I could visit my longtime friends at Intrinsic in Orion Township, Michigan by offering a grant funded class made possible by Eastern Michigan University and OSHA.

Hello 👋 new friends in Albion, Michigan. Glad to see SAFETY is on so many great businesses agenda’s these days. EDIT - CHEAPER GAS ⛽️ THANK YOU ($3.74 gallon)

According to OSHA - approximately 15 workers go to work and die on the job everyday.

Failure to Abate (failure to remove or fix) a safety hazard can cost your company $16,550 per day.

I’m glad to see many Michigan companies/cities/colleges are making huge strides to improve their health and safety programs. ❤️ I REALLY want people to be safe and companies have the needed safety resources to help them.

Unfortunately, in general there are still many companies not in compliance across the country.

Lives are still being lost, employees are sickened or ill from occupational exposures yet today at an alarming rate. And not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars in costly fines that exist every year for companies who choose to not have a good health and safety program.. or none at all . Michigan Occupational Safety & Health Administration (MIOSHA) has reported Michigan’s #39 workplace fatality today.

THIS WEEK INCLUDES-Confined Space Training
The hazards associated with confined space entry have been known for a long time.

Are you in compliance with these safety standards? Both General Industry and Construction Industry regulations require that the hazards are known to the worker. This requires employee training, PPE and all required non-entry life saving equipment. Air monitors, communication devices, fall protection, respiratory protection and more should be evaluated and provided by the employer in working order. A site specific written program for confined space is required to be reviewed annually. Permits kept on file and logged. Retraining may be necessary.
