Food and liquid belong in the compost or trash, not the recycling bin! This includes things like pizza and doughnut boxes because you can’t wash out the grease and the containers get soggy. Remember, Styrofoam can’t go either – so keep those takeout containers in the trash. #KnowWhatToThrow

Natural Gas Leak Alert: Great Southwest Pkwy. at Forum Dr.
GPFD and ATMOS Energy are currently on scene of a natural gas leak at the corner of Great Southwest Parkway and Forum Drive after construction crews struck a major gas line this morning. For the next 4-5 hours, gas has been shut off for repairs between Mayfield Road and Sara Jane Parkway (east of Great Southwest Parkway). The smell of natural gas in the area may be present. No evacuations have been conducted at this time. GPFD Hazmat will continue on scene monitoring the situation. For updates, contact ATMOS at atmosenergy.com, or call 888-286-6700 (or 866-322-8667 for ATMOS gas leak emergencies or dial 911).

Please remember that OUTSIDE natural gas leaks rarely pose a threat to the public since natural gas dissipates in the air. Your neighborhood will be notified, via multiple means of City of Grand Prairie communication, should a natural gas threat require an evacuation in your area.

Thank you for all your continued support, looking forward to serving you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and GPISD Family.

It is with profound sadness Grand Prairie ISD is announcing the death of Dr. Susan Simpson Hull, Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Hull was critically injured in a motorcycle accident while on vacation in Arizona. Her loving family was with her at the time of her death. Details of Dr. Hull’s service are pending.

“This is a significant loss for the entire Grand Prairie ISD community as well as the education community at large,” said Burke Hall, President of the GPISD Board of Trustees. “Over the past 12 years, Dr. Hull has made a significant impact on GPISD and helped establish our reputation around the globe. She also made a lasting difference in school children around Texas through her advocacy and creativity. She will be sorely missed.”

Dr. Hull was a Texas educator for 39 years, serving as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. She was in her twelfth year as the Superintendent of the Grand Prairie ISD. As a Texas Superintendent for almost three decades, Hull served in five school districts.

Great recommendation on Voting Centers in Tarrant County.
