Just a quick reminder as we get closer to Rooster Crow. The parade starts at 10:00 Saturday the 28th... so plan ahead for the road closure of both Main St. and Pine St. When all goes as planned, it is finished at 11:00 and they work quickly to get the roads back open. Hope to see many of you out and about enjoying Rooster Crow!

June 11, 2025, 13:05:59; Vegetation Fire; LITTLE GRAYBACK RD and CAVES HWY, Cave Junction.

The Illinois Valley Fire District, ODF Southwest Oregon District, BLM and U.S. Forest Service - Six Rivers National Forest are actively suppressing a 0.35-acre fire.

***At 13:50, the fire has been wetlined and units will start mopping up.***
Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County has been dispatched to provide mutual aid.

The fire will be investigated.

𝙏𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂: Thunderstorms have been in the forecast, and as of now, they’re beginning to materialize along the Oregon-California border.

We’re tracking the storms and are ready to respond to reports of smoke and fires tonight. We’ll update this post with information if any fires are found.

ART units assisted Williams Fire as well as the Sheriffs office allowing units on scene to reallocate crucial personnel and resources back to additional incoming calls.

By providing federally standardized traffic control and scene support, ART helps ensure public safety while enhancing operational efficiency for our partner agencies.

We remain committed to working alongside local law enforcement and fire departments to protect lives, preserve resources, and promote safer roadways throughout the County and State.

INCIDENT: Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

INCIDENT DATE: June 7, 2025

REPORTING DEPUTY: Detective Sergeant Henrich

DECEASED: Spencer Donald Goulding, 31 years old

DETAILS:
On June 7, 2025 at approximately 8:30pm hours, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Williams Highway and Green Meadow Road.

Williams Fire also responded to the scene and found a single vehicle rollover crash with a single occupant.

The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was travelling on Wiliams Highway and for an unknown reason left the roadway, eventually coming to rest on its top partially blocking Williams Highway.

The driver, Spencer Goulding was found unrestrained and pronounced deceased on arrival. Next of kin has been notified.

No further information will be released at this time.
