The Town of Great Falls is taking steps to address abandoned, burned, dilapidated, and neglected properties that can negatively impact public safety and the community. The new ordinance gives the Town a process for working with property owners to correct these conditions and, when necessary, acquiring properties that remain unsafe or abandoned. Acquired properties may be cleaned up, demolished, maintained, or made available for future redevelopment. The goal is to improve neighborhoods, promote redevelopment, increase property values, and create a safer, cleaner Great Falls.

Notice to the Citizens of Great Falls

I want to let everyone know that I will be unable to attend this week’s regularly scheduled Town Council meeting, the public hearing, and the second reading of the budget.

I will be attending a work-related workshop that was scheduled for the entire week and will be away fulfilling those responsibilities.

In my absence, Mayor Pro Tem Jody Knight will preside over and conduct these meetings.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support as we continue working together to build a stronger Great Falls. I look forward to returning and continuing to serve our community.

I’m considering adopting the following statements to guide our administration:

Vision Statement
Great Falls will become South Carolina’s model small town—a place where families choose to live, businesses choose to invest, children have opportunities to grow, seniors are honored, neighborhoods are beautiful, and every resident has hope for a brighter future.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to lead with honesty, compassion, and accountability while restoring hope, promoting unity, encouraging responsible growth, and ensuring that every decision benefits the people of Great Falls today and for generations to come.
