Montana ESGR

Montana ESGR All employers support and value the employment of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the U Virgin Islands. Together, We All Serve!

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 4,500 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia

, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve. ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families. ESGR has continued to adapt to meet the needs of Reserve Component members, their families, and America’s employers by joining forces with a network of other national, state, and local government and professional trade organizations.

Boss Lift Orientation flights took place at the Gallatin Readiness Center in Belgrade Montana! We had two dozen employers join us from the Billings and Bozeman areas. Two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and their crews from the 189th GSAB TF Vigilante provided exceptional orientation flights over the beautiful Bridger mountains! Thank you to all the volunteer Montana ESGR staff who assisted as well as members of the Belgrade 1-163rd National Guard Armory and the Montana Army National Guard Recruiting & Retention team. Finally, thank you Montana Adjutant General Trent Gibson for his visit to the group. We can't do this without you!

Another successful ESGR Boss Lift conducted today at the 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 163rd Cavalry Regiment Armory with support from the 189th GSAB TF Vigilante out of Billings. Nearly 50 employers from the Billings and Gallatin Valley areas had the pleasure of flying on the venerable UH60 Blackhawk helicopters on a gorgeous bluebird day. It was a great group of folks who learned a bit more about the jobs the members of the Guard and Reserve components do. A shout out to the Montana National Guard Recruiting Battalion led in this area by MSG Hank Hannah and his team for their event support.

Congratulations Glen Disque-
Glen was awarded the ESGR Patriot Award from his staff member Walter Gonzalez- in his nomination Walter says

“ Glen is the best supervisor I have had since leaving active duty for the reserves. He goes out of his way to work with my schedule. I am leaving for deployment, and he checks in weekly to make sure I am taking care of my pre-deployment requirements. Glen is understanding and supportive of my service, allowing me to have a flexible schedule to fulfill my requirements.”

Thank you, Glen for showing leadership to our service members as a boss and a state employee- a true symbol of Employer Support of Guard & Reserve! Presented by Montana ESGR Volunteer Jenn Phalen
