We are excited to present the “Green Bay Parks Century Grove” at Danz Park East which is a planting of 100 trees that will allow our community to come together, celebrate achievements of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department for many generations to come. This project is the first step in a collaborative effort to reinvigorate and bring the Danz Park master plan to fruition.
Unveiling at Ken Euers Nature Area
The City of Green Bay’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department has been working with multiple conservation partners on ecological shoreline restoration and enhancements at Ken Euers Nature Area. Recent work includes the removal of invasive, non-native vegetation and restoration to the east marsh in 2019, including the repair of dikes and installing new water control features. These features allow the marsh to capture storm water and nutrients before entering Green Bay and will support shoreline protection and management for wildlife habitat. UW-Green Bay will be leading a wild rice seeding today covering 2 acres in the east impoundment to help in the continued effort.
An interpretive sign has been installed at the park to highlight the recent restoration efforts and to recognize the partners who have helped with the work. The Parks Department would like to extend a big thank you to all of those involved in helping to make these improvements.
Special thanks to our partners: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Ducks Unlimited, UW-Green Bay, UW-Madison Extension Forestry, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, USFWS Coastal Program, Fund for Lake Michigan, Fox River Trustee Council

Happy Kids’ Day! We are releasing a Red Tailed Hawk at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary!
Green Bay Kids’ Day is our own unique celebration of kids. Began in 2003, it marks a day when the community opens up facilities free-of-charge to kids. Although the city-wide celebration is cancelled, we at the City of Green Bay encourage all families to celebrate kids with kid-centered activities such as playing games, going for a hike or a bike ride, or enjoying a kid’s favorite meal.
Happy Father's Day to all the great dads out there!
To all the moms out there, we hope you enjoy your day!
