Is your woodlot being overrun by invasive shrubs making the property unusable and unsightly?

Exotic shrubs like honeysuckle and buckthorn can spread quickly and take over a property, competing with native trees, discouraging wildlife use and even decreasing your property value, not to mention being unsightly.

NES will help you rescue your property, from power saws to forestry mowers, no project is too big or too small! Contact us today to learn more about how we can help restore your property.

Here are some photos of a Berlin, Wisconsin oak/hickory forest with an embedded pine plantation, that was being overgrown with honeysuckle and buckthorn. NES staff cut and treated over 17 acres during the winter of 2018/2019 to help restore this forest.

NES Welcomes New WNDR Professionally Assured Wetland Delineator http://neswi.com/nes-welcomes-new-wndr-professionally-assured-wetland-delineator/

NES, a division of Robert E. Lee & Associates, Inc. , announces new WDNR Professionally Assured Wetland Delineator

Congratulations to Kyle Bretl! Mr. Bretl joins James Havel as a WDNR Professionally Assured Wetland Delineator at NES Ecological Services, a division of Robert E. Lee & Associates, Inc. Our firm is the only firm in Wisconsin currently employing two Assured Delineators.

Hiring an Assured Wetland Delineator saves your project time and money. Wetland delineations conducted by either James or Kyle do not require field concurrence by the WDNR, which is important because on site review by the WDNR could take up to 60 days and cost a fee of $300 per 20 acres of land reviewed.

Oak Savanna Restoration Update http://bit.ly/WvaSHn

We were able to get the forestry mower on-site for a few days in February and really started opening up the savanna. The snow depth kept us off of the slopes but we were able to tackle the top of the ridge, the flat area to the northwest of the ridge and some of the fence line. We also began to work on cleaning up the field edges by removing trees that were leaning over or had fallen into the fields/prairies. Click on the thumbnails to see the full pictures.

Oak Savanna Restoration http://bit.ly/XwCPsH

NES has been hard at work in southern Wisconsin restoring an oak savanna ecosystem. We are manually removing invasive and undesirable shrubs and trees within and around sensitive areas; and soon we will be using a forestry mower to remove the remaining unwanted shrubs and trees in the remaining forested area.
