What is Bird Town—and why does it matter for Green Tree? 🐦🌿

Bird Town is a program through the National Audubon Society that recognizes communities committed to bird-friendly practices—like habitat restoration, education, and environmental stewardship.

It’s more than a title—it’s a roadmap. Bird Town communities focus on:
• Municipal action
• Youth & school engagement
• Community involvement
• Partnerships & collaboration
• Advocacy & awareness

For Democrats for Green Tree, this fits perfectly with our Go Green, Green Tree initiative—offering clear, actionable items to make our community greener, healthier, and more connected.

📅 Next step: On April 6, we are asking Borough Council to pass a resolution to apply for Bird Town certification.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting this important step forward!

Members of Democrats for Green Tree were proud to stand in solidarity with 8 million others for yesterday’s No Kings demonstrations.

We believe a strong democracy depends on an engaged, empowered electorate—and it was inspiring to see so many people exercise their First Amendment rights.

Thank you to all who joined us at our Pre-Rally event and to those who stood beside us at the Mt. Lebanon Rally.

Yesterday's message was clear: get connected in your community and talk to your neighbors. Democracy thrives when we show up, speak out, and move forward together. 💪💙

New to Democrats for Green Tree? Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here! 👋💙

Democrats for Green Tree was formed out of a shared belief that our neighbors deserve a stronger voice in shaping our local democracy and our community.

We’re building a people-powered movement that listens to our community, elevates local priorities, and turns shared values into meaningful action. That means expanding civic engagement through volunteer opportunities, local events, and stronger connections with our elected officials.

We also work to empower community-driven Democrats who want to serve — by sharing information, opening doors to training and mentorship, and offering encouragement every step of the way.

Democrats for Green Tree is committed to accountability and democracy: holding elected leaders to their promises, encouraging healthy and competitive primaries, and protecting voters’ access to real choices and fresh ideas.

And above all, we champion progressive policy at the local, state, and federal levels — advocating for justice, equity, and opportunity for all.
