On Friday, April 24, we are relaunching the Roots of Our Time series! Originally developed by Dr. James Anderson in UNCG's History Department, this series brings together two UNCG faculty members from different departments to provide historical context and deeper understanding of contemporary issues.

We are thrilled to kick off the series with an engaging discussion between Dr. Muntazir Ali (LPS) and Dr. David Wight (HIS) on the Israeli-US War with Iran in historical perspective.

The UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts is thrilled to share the call for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in East Asian Art History, with preference for a candidate who specializes in Media Histories and specifically those of animation, print, or new medias. This colleague will teach across multiple media, while also implementing broader surveys in the history of Asian art. Preference is for those whose research and teaching addresses the Asian diaspora or trans-regional interactions.

The successful applicant for this position will contribute to the strengths of the School of Art, home to over 700 students across BFA and BA studio, arts administration, art education, and art history majors, as well as MFA studio students. New Assistant Professors in the School of Art are granted Graduate Faculty Status and serve on MFA thesis committees. The School of Art is part of the College of Visual and Performing Arts , an area of distinction in the UNC System and its 17 campuses.
