Women for Kay

Women for Kay When the best interests of North Carolina women are on the line, Kay will never back down. www.kayhagan.com The first bill she co-sponsored in the U.S.

As a working mom, Kay knows the balancing act that so many women face today. Senate was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which was signed into law and gives women the tools they need to fight for equal pay for an equal day’s work. Kay has worked to build on that victory for women by supporting the Paycheck Fairness Act. When extremists in Congress tried to turn the Violence Against Women Act into

a political football, Kay advocated for women and families everywhere by urging her colleagues to check politics at the door when women’s lives were on the line. Ultimately, Kay’s commonsense voice was heard, and the renewal of that critical law passed Congress on a bipartisan basis. The final law included a Hagan provision to streamline programs and improve the way medical providers identify and respond to domestic violence. For Kay, protecting and strengthening women’s health care is a key priority. She supported measures that increase women’s access to preventive care, and stopped insurance companies from charging women more than they charge men.
