We are still accepting applications for new members to join our Danish Festival Board of Directors! 🇩🇰

We are especially looking for someone interested in serving as our Parade Director, as well as people who are excited about helping us bring NEW events and activities to the festival!

If you’re organized, dependable, enjoy working with others, and would love to help bring new ideas to life, we’d love to hear from you!

Our Board is a working board, so directors are actively involved in planning and running their area of the festival. We’re looking for positive, enthusiastic people who are excited to support and promote the Danish Festival and our community. ❤️🇩🇰

Apparently, somewhere between putting on the festival and recovering from festival weekend, we forgot to actually share our 2026 Meijer Grand Dansk Parade winners! 😂 Oops!

This was honestly one of our favorite parades yet, with over 100 entries joining us! We are so thankful to everyone who participated, decorated floats, brought the music, embraced our Danish Monarchy theme, and helped make this year’s parade so much fun. ❤️🇩🇰

🏆 The judges’ picks for this year’s winners are:

🎨 Best Amateur Entry: Isabella Bank
👑 Best Themed Entry: Alpha Family Services of Greenville
🎉 Best Float: Tori Ensing, Realtor

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our Parade Director, Wayne Baker, for doing such an amazing job directing the Meijer Grand Dansk Parade for the past six festivals! ❤️ Wayne has put countless hours into organizing and coordinating this huge event, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he has done.

And thank you to all of Wayne’s additional parade volunteers who have helped with lineup, staging, organization, and everything else it takes to get 100+ entries down the parade route! We truly could not do it without you.

📣 We’re looking for new Board Members! 🇩🇰

As we start planning for next year’s Danish Festival, we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Board of Directors!

We have some exciting ideas for new events and activities, and we’re looking for people who may be interested in stepping up as directors and helping bring those ideas to life. We’re also looking for volunteers interested in joining committees and helping with different areas of the Festival.

❤️ Please keep in mind that we are a working board. Board members are expected to be actively involved in the planning and operation of the Festival, not just attend meetings.

Before applying, please make sure you are generally available for:
🇩🇰 Board Meetings: Third Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM, February–October
🥞 Open Air Breakfast: Third Friday in July
🎉 Danish Festival Weekend: Third full weekend in August

We’re looking for people who are ready to jump in, work as a team, take ownership of projects, and be positive ambassadors for the Danish Festival in our community. We want Board members who are excited to support the Festival, help make it better, and speak positively about the organization they represent. ❤️

👑 We’re Growing Our Queen’s Committee! 👑

Our Miss Danish Festival Scholarship Pageant continues to grow, and we’re looking to build a Queen’s Committee to help support our Queen’s Director and make this program the best it can be!

We’re looking for people who would love to be involved in the pageant program throughout the year. Whether you have pageant experience, love planning events and activities, or simply want to get more involved with the Danish Festival, we’d love to have you be part of the team! 💙

There are many ways to contribute, and you don’t have to be a pageant expert. From helping with events and activities to supporting our contestants and Queen’s Court, there’s a place for a variety of talents and interests.
