Our library wines have been placed for auction on Winebid.com. These are properly stored fine wines that are perfect for drinking now or for the next several years.

Here's a recent review of our 2010 Les Fauves Syrah from Whitehawk Vineyard:

"92 points
5/20/2025 Fully mature with licorice, mint, black fruits, smoke. An incredible deal for $15 on Winebid."

Tiny quantities of our Cabernet, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Syrah remain available in the auction. But don't sleep on these wines!

The response to our wine auction at winebid.com has been great. Our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, a single vineyard Napa Valley has been selling very quickly so don't wait on that one or it'll be gone.

Still good availability on our 2009 Napa Cabernet, which earned a 93 point score from Wine Enthusiast magazine, one of our highest scoring wines. 2009 was a truly amazing "Goldilocks" vintage and it would have been hard to go wrong. Our Cab is deeply concentrated with a lot of structure, an age-worthy wine that saw extended time in 100% new French oak from the esteemed Darnajou cooperage. The wine has been properly kept in ideal conditions at a Napa professional wine storage facility and can readily be compared to library wines from some of Napa's finest wineries costing hundreds of dollars per bottle. An incredible bargain now with an auction reserve of only $20 per bottle.

Don't sleep on the Pinot Noir, Syrah and Zinfandel too. All single vineyard, from some of California's best vineyards and made in single barrel quantities. All currently have a reserve of only $15/bottle and are easily comparable to wines at 4 to 5 times that price.

Time to stock up for the holidays!

Made a lot of new fans and friends at Charleston Wine and Food who said we were their fav winery there.

My fav comment of the day: grumpy guy comes up and asks Phyllis to taste all five wines. Says he was told by other people he HAD to come taste our wine. Taste...Harrumph, Taste.. Bah humbug, and so on. Finishes all five wine tastes and says "I don't see what all the hype is about!" and turns around and walks off.

What!? There's HYPE about our wine? ;^)

Heading to Charleston, SC for the annual Wine and Food Festival. Anyone going? Look for us at the Pinot NV event Saturday afternoon. We'll be pouring the good stuff, including a few older vintages. Tickets? $90 a pop and sold out weeks ago!

2010 Poinsett Pinot Noir tonight with Middle Eastern shrimp and chicken kebabs, roasted vegetables and basmati rice at Green Lettuce Restaurant. Also enjoyed a bottle of Wind Gap Grenache brought by friends Scott and Donna. All good - a nice Wednesday night in downtown G-town.

So we post a week or so ago that we think the 2012 Calicaro Zig Zag Alley is still showing reckless teenage abandon and recommend waiting awhile to drink it. Then we run into a customer who tells us it is great, he has already drunk all of his and orders another case.

Red Cross Wine Auction Weekend. We had a fantastic time at the Sponsor Dinner last night at Rick Erwin's Cafe and Deli. Salmon with a basil and butter sauce sprinkled with breadcrumbs played nicely with three of our Pinot Noirs. Salted caramel pie with a graham cracker crust for dessert.

Tonight is the big wine auction at the Hyatt. Last year this event raised about $400,000 for the Western Carolinas Red Cross.

We'll be pouring before the auction and at a sponsor table for dinner. If you are coming stop by and grab a glass of the good stuff. And bid on our donation of 6 bottles of Calicaro.

A recent party: Friends brought a bottle of '09 Calicaro Zig Zag Alley Zin paired with their spicy Asian ribs. That wine is drinking really well now and went great with the ribs. Also tried it with our 2012 Zig Zag Alley Zin - that youngster wine needs to grow up - all teenage abandon right now - hide the car keys for a couple more years.
