DEPRESSION TIPS
Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.
Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.
Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy panties? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.
Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost. I always use lemon.
Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.
Blast music. Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.
Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.
Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.
Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.
May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.
*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.
*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!
Find something to be grateful for!
May I please get 2 friends or family members to copy and re-post? I am trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening.

What a day! Just wanted to take a moment to shout out the Hope 703 Drive, the Christmas edition. We give all year long, but every Christmas we do it a little bigger for Jesus. This year we were able to bless over 100 kids impacted by incarceration. We could not do that without our amazing donors.
Over one-third of the children were sponsored by individuals and 100% of the funding was from individuals. No grants, no Hollywood money, no NBA money just people who care. Hope 703 started with one individual who believed in these kids impacted by incarceration and their families. They are victims too and because you believed in them they got everything on their lists.
All of the food was donated by another mighty man of God so we praise Jesus for all the contributors and the recipients. His family served us today with a smile.
We don’t post a lot because we’re always working. Today I couldn’t keep it to our small circle because it was such a beautiful sight to see so many people come together to make this happen.
One of the families shared that they had lost everything just prior to this event, so this meant so much for their kids who were wondering if they were still gonna be able to celebrate Christmas. Thanks for stepping up and answering the call.
Every one of those kids lives are impacted by someone who is locked up or was locked up and cannot do what they would be able to do if our society had not failed them. Today felt like a win!🏅

2 young ladies in the neighborhood are now without their grandmother. This hurts to see something like this right before Thanksgiving. I hope this family is showered with love and hope. There is also hope for the one who caused this. I’m so concerned that an African American woman’s life can be taken so easily and young men can have their primary caretaker taken away without a cry or a groan from the community. There is hope for the African American woman in America. We will continue to speak for Tina and others whom we have failed.

A woman was hit and killed Sunday night while attempting to cross a busy road, according to Jonathan Hamilton with the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

This November Greenville Citizens will be asked to choose between having dangerous roads or increased taxes. The days of 5% sales taxes are far behind us. Do you want 7% sales taxes now? This won’t affect groceries of course, but for everything else. Every dollar you spend sends a penny to the road projects. Every one-hundred dollars sends one-hundred Pennies Or $1.
This is an interesting debate. Whichever side you are on, it is important to be armed with information when you vote. There is a QR code with all the projects.

https://www.foxcarolina.com/2024/10/15/watch-greenville-county-one-percent-sales-tax-debate-fox-carolina/

Takeaways from the video:
Do we have Dangerous roads or dangerous drivers?
Should we be Adding to the budget or re-examining the budget?
Are roads the responsibility of the citizens or the council?

There are various websites devoted to this topic as well such as: fixgvlroads.com

Voters in Greenville County will decide in November if they want to raise the sales tax by one percent in order to fund road improvements.

Are you or someone you know making a film that can change the justice system? Let us help do it! We’re looking to collaboratively lead impact campaigns for films coming out in 2025 about the justice system and are directed, produced, or written by a person who is currently or formerly incarcerated.

Represent Justice will select at least one film or series releasing to public audiences (through film festivals, theatrical, broadcast, or streaming) between January and December, 2025.

The Impact Campaign Open Call consists of:

A $20,000 grant: Support for system-impacted filmmakers and film participants for their leadership within the impact campaign.
An impact campaign carried out by Represent Justice: We will collaborate with the filmmakers and film participants to develop an impact strategy, and then we will launch, implement, and oversee the campaign, while also covering associated hard costs. Our campaigns last approximately six months.
Applications are open through September 30th. Learn more and apply today.

Here is an interesting response to Black MAGA. Regardless of which party wins out, there will be Hope. Jesus Christ is the great Hope and He doesn’t belong to either party. For those who are voting, it is important to hear both sides of every policy to be able to make informed decisions. In a world without sin, either side could work, but in a world full of sin we need H.O.P.E. because neither side can truly work the way it is pitched.
