As we continue sharing local camp opportunities and youth activities throughout our communities, we also want grandparents and other relatives raising children to know that support may be available through the Upper Savannah Area Agency on Aging’s Seniors Raising Children (SRC) Program. ❤️

The SRC Program may assist eligible caregivers with:
✔️ Clothing & school supply vouchers
✔️ Camp, sports & after-school activities
✔️ Support for grandparents and relatives raising children

Eligibility Requirements:
✔ Must be a grandparent or other relative caregiver by blood, adoption, marriage, or kinship care
✔ Must be 55 years of age or older
✔ Must provide sole care for child(ren) age 17 or younger
✔ Child(ren) must live with you

Events like this can make a real difference for individuals and families in our community but support does not have to stop here.

Upper Savannah Area Agency on Aging offers FREE Senior Nutrition Services for seniors 60 and older, including:
• Congregate Meals – Enjoy a hot meal at a local senior center, connect with others, and stay active. Transportation is available if needed.
• Home-Delivered Meals – For seniors who are homebound
(All services require an assessment to determine eligibility.)

Thornwell will officially launch its 2026 Grab N’ Go Summer Meal Program on June 1, providing free breakfast and lunch meal packs for qualifying children throughout the summer.
