My heart is full after such a wonderful evening at my recent launch event! 💗

Thank you to my family, friends and supporters who came together to celebrate, encourage me and help launch this campaign. Having so many people I care about in one room reminded me why I’m running—to help build an even stronger, more connected Grover Beach.

The Dune Run is one of those events that makes Grover Beach special — getting outside, enjoying our beautiful coastline and coming together as a community.

🏁 Race Starts: 9 a.m.

Shilo Terek qualifies for November ballot for Grover Beach City Council District 1

GROVER BEACH, Calif. (July 31, 2026) — Community leader and longtime Grover Beach resident Shilo Terek has qualified for the November 2026 ballot for the District 1 seat on the Grover Beach City Council after submitting nomination signatures that were certified by the City Clerk, exceeding the number required under California election law.

The certification marks an important milestone in Terek’s campaign and reflects early grassroots support from neighbors throughout District 1.

“I’m incredibly grateful to every resident who took the time to sign my nomination papers,” Terek said. “Those signatures represent more than a requirement to appear on the ballot — they represent trust. I’m committed to earning that trust every day by listening, being accessible and making thoughtful decisions that serve the long-term interests of Grover Beach.”

A Grover Beach resident for more than 16 years, Terek brings professional experience in regulatory compliance, communications and organizational leadership. She is a principal program manager at PG&E, holds a master’s degree in public administration and has volunteered with numerous local organizations and schools throughout San Luis Obispo County.

In a recent interview, Terek emphasized her belief that Grover Beach can embrace thoughtful growth while preserving the welcoming coastal character residents value. She has also spoken about the importance of transparent leadership, listening to residents and evaluating projects on their individual merits rather than relying on one-size-fits-all approaches to governing.

Anna Andriese, a District 1 resident, longtime friend of Terek and owner of Haute Skillet, said Terek would bring a fresh perspective to the community.

“Shilo brings the kind of new energy Grover Beach needs,” Andriese said. “She listens before she speaks, asks thoughtful questions and genuinely wants to bring people together. As both a small-business owner and a District 1 resident, I’m excited to support someone who cares deeply about our community and is committed to helping Grover Beach move forward.”

Terek said her campaign will continue to focus on meeting residents where they are through neighborhood conversations, community events, local business visits and door-to-door outreach.
“I don’t believe the best ideas come from behind a desk,” Terek said. “They come from conversations with the people who call Grover Beach home. My goal is simple: Be kind. Be curious. Be brave. And work hard every day to represent District 1 with integrity.”

Another batch of campaign business cards is ready! 😊

One thing that’s important to me is supporting the businesses that make our community strong, so when I can, I chose to have them printed locally.

The team at SLOCODATA Print and Mail was incredibly efficient, easy to work with, and the quality exceeded my expectations. It’s a great reminder that we don’t have to look far to find outstanding service.
