Memorial Day is a time to honor those who gave everything in service to others.

But remembrance is more than reflection. It’s also about how we continue to support military-connected workers, including veterans and their families in the workplace every day.

For many, the impact of service lasts a lifetime. Organizations have the opportunity to create environments rooted in understanding, opportunity, and meaningful support that extends far beyond a single moment of recognition.

Last Thursday, May 14th, SHRM Gulf Coast had the opportunity to hear from Rene Davis with the Gulf Coast Center of Nonviolence on the topic of Green Dot Bystander Intervention. Rene shared the importance of filling the world with more “green dots” by taking action and speaking up when we see situations that may require intervention. Whether that means creating a distraction, pulling out your phone to document a situation, or calling 911 — every action matters. If you see something, say something. 💚
