"ROAD CLOSURE EXTENDED

(Gulfport, MS) – As part of the ongoing drainage installation project, the City of Gulfport is extending the ‘Road Closure’ on Tracy Street and East Tracy Street, between Franklin Avenue and Todd Drive. The closure will now remain in effect from Friday, December 12, 2025, through Wednesday, December 24, 2025, until 5:00 p.m., weather permitting

Franklin Avenue and Todd Drive will continue to serve as the designated detour route, ensuring minimal disruption to citizens and businesses in the area.

The City of Gulfport urges all residents to proceed with caution and follow all traffic markers and flagger instructions in the area.

"ROAD CLOSURE EXTENDED

(Gulfport, MS) – The City of Gulfport has extended the intermittent ‘Road Closure’ on Kendall Avenue, between 48th Street and 45th Street, from Friday, November 14, 2025, through Friday, November 21, 2025, until 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.

48th Street, Jefferson Avenue, and 45th Street will continue to serve as the designated detour route, ensuring minimal disruption to citizens and businesses in the area.

The City of Gulfport urges all residents to proceed with caution and follow all traffic markers and flagger instructions in the area.

"BOIL WATER NOTICE

(Gulfport, MS) – In response to a water main repair, the City of Gulfport has issued a ‘Boil Water Notice’ impacting the citizens in the surrounding area of David Street between Klein Road and Pamela Drive.

Those who acquire their drinking water from this area are asked to boil water vigorously for one minute and let it cool before consuming.

The City of Gulfport Public Works Department will alert residents when the water meets the standards of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

(Gulfport, MS) – In response to a water main repair, the City of Gulfport has issued a ‘Boil Water Notice’ for the citizens in the surrounding area of 40th Street from Commerce Street, spanning eastward to the cul-de-sac.

Those who acquire their drinking water from this area are asked to boil water vigorously for one minute and let it cool before consuming.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, in coordination with the Mississippi National Guard and other partnering state agencies, will host the 20th Anniversary Commemoration of Hurricane Katrina.

The ceremony will commemorate Hurricane Katrina's landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and remember the lives lost and the pain endured by the citizens of our great state.

The public is invited to attend this solemn occasion with Governor Reeves on August 29, 2025, at 8:25 a.m. at Jones Park in Gulfport. Mississippians who are unable to attend, please join us in a one-minute, statewide moment of silence at 8:29 a.m.

As we approach the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we all have stories to tell. Join with your neighbors in recognition of what we had to overcome this coming Friday morning along with Governor Tate Reeves, Mayor Hugh Keating, and the men and women of the National Guard at Jones Park.

This Friday, Aug. 29th, our community will gather for the 20th Anniversary Commemoration of Hurricane Katrina at Jones Park with Governor Tate Reeves and the Mississippi National Guard. Taking time to remember the lives lost, the strength of our people, and the resilience that still carries us today.
The ceremony begins at 8:25 a.m. with a statewide moment of silence at 8:29 a.m.
