Daulton Harris for District 1 BOE

Daulton Harris for District 1 BOE I’ve learned doing what you believe is right doesn’t always come without consequence. Jobs end. Campaigns end. Purpose doesn’t.

I’ll continue investing in Effingham because I want to see this community prosper. For my future family, and for yours too.

Effingham deserves transparency.

We need smarter fiscal spending, accountability, and responsibility from leadership. Too often, local conversations become about maintaining the status quo instead of asking hard questions and making information accessible to the public.

I’m not a journalist. I’m not a politician. I’m just a concerned citizen who believes people deserve to know what’s going on in their community.

Public records exist for a reason. They aren’t always easy, fast, or cheap—but they are available.

I still have records requests pending, and when information becomes available, I intend to share what I find. Not to create division, not to be a thorn in anyone’s side, but because informed communities make better decisions.

If you’ve ever wanted to request information but didn’t know where to start, reach out. I’m happy to help people understand the process and how to dig into public information.

The campaign may be over.

I’m not going anywhere.

Man… almost 700 votes.

That’s amazing. I’m so grateful for every one of you and so grateful for this opportunity.

More than anything, I’m proud of this community. Effingham really showed up for a spring election.

At minimum, I hope we opened some eyes and changed the way people think about local government and local elections. If a 27-year-old first-time candidate can earn nearly 30% of the vote, imagine what all of you could do if you got involved.

Like I’ve always said — I owe much of the man I am today to the coaches I had growing up and the men and women I had as teachers. One thing they taught me is that competition builds character and inspires growth and innovation. And more importantly, honesty — not only to yourself but to the people counting on you — is what creates accountability.

Of course, the results didn’t go our way this time.

But congratulations to Mrs. Lynn Anderson. I sincerely wish you success and wisdom over the next four years because when our schools succeed, our community succeeds.

As for me — this isn’t goodbye. I care deeply about this county and I cannot wait to see where Effingham goes over the next four years.

Thank you for believing in me.
❤️

Thank you, Latrice Williams for stopping by and taking the time to talk with me today and for covering this election.

I’ve appreciated the opportunity to share my perspective and have conversations about our schools, growth, transparency, and where we go from here as a community.

No matter the outcome, I’m grateful for everyone who has taken the time to listen, ask questions, and stay engaged.

And seriously, stay cool out there in this South Georgia heat ☀️

Tuesday, May 19 is election day in Georgia as voters head to polls for the midterm primaries. Federal, state and local elections are on the ballot.

Out by Hwy 17 & Midland today and just wanted to say thank you to everyone participating in the process.

No matter who you support, local elections matter and every candidate has put a lot of time and energy into showing up, meeting people, and sharing their ideas.

If you haven’t voted yet, please take the time to make your voice heard today. Local decisions impact our schools, community, and future in ways people don’t always realize.

Most importantly — thank you to everyone who takes part and helps keep our community engaged.
