Hard truth.

Coaches don’t give playing time to the athlete who wants it the most.

We give it to the athlete we trust the most.

Trust comes from:

• effort
• discipline
• attitude
• coachability
• consistency

Not complaints.

Not parents.

Not potential.

Just trust.

Everyone wants development.
But nobody wants accountability.

If the pass shanks…
it’s the setter.

If the set is off…
it’s the hitter.

If the team loses…
it’s the coach.

And parents?
They believe every excuse.

Everything isn’t the coach’s fault.

Average athletes say:

• The coach hates me
• The refs were bad
• The lineup is wrong
• The setter missed me
• The passers aren’t good
• The set was bad
• I don’t have hitters
• My team sucks

Great players do something different.

They ask one question:

“What could I have done better?”

That’s where growth starts.

Real coaching isn’t always comfortable.

Sometimes players hear things they don’t like.
Sometimes practice is hard.
Sometimes the truth stings.

But the teams that grow the most…

Are the ones willing to hear it.

Soft coaching creates comfortable players.
Honest coaching creates dangerous ones.

Parents may not always like it…
but championships usually do.
