This position moves forward the vision, mission, and values of the School of Social Work. This position possesses a strong commitment and background in student-centered pedagogy and engaged learning, including experience teaching first-generation students and students from historically marginalized groups, including but not limited to: Native American, African American, Latinx, LGBT and q***r students, and students with disabilities. Specifically, we are examining factors that impact disparity in pass rates for social work licensure, its impact on the social work profession, and solutions to reduce this disparity. Former Assistant Professor Dalia Avello-Vega, Psy.M., MA, MRes, IMH-E recently published "Prevalence of Depressive Disorder in the Adult population of Latin America: a systematic review and meta-analysis"
