Just a thought on fire safety.

Tossed some remodeling trash in the fire pit earlier, we had a fire last night but it had died out 16 or so hours ago, a few minutes later we noticed some smoke. Yes a part of that paneling has already burned.

Always ensure any outside fires are completed contained or extinguished before abandoning them.

Shortly after 5 pm Pebble VFD was dispatched for an Equipment fire. Please keep the owners in your thoughts as they have lost equipment but thankfully everyone was uninjured, the fire was extinguished, and the fire was prevented from spreading to nearby equipment.

Last night's drill we had the opportunity to train in an acquired structure through an agreement with a local property owner. We focused on getting some of our younger firemen experience searching and advancing hoselines within a real world environment. As their skills progress the difficulty and challenges will also increase until they're comfortable in a training scenario that mimicks a real event.

We appreciate the opportunity provided by this property owner to utilize the structure.

Today, the Bishop/McDonald family laid sweet Maddie to rest. It was truly an honor to know her and to help give her the heartfelt farewell she deserved.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone in the community who came together to support the family during this difficult time, as well as The Alabama Fire College, The Alabama Fire Association, the Alabama State Troopers, and the many others whose kindness and assistance meant so much.

Please continue to keep the Bishop/McDonald family in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. May they find comfort, strength, and peace in the love that surrounds them.
