This past week, on Monday and Wednesday, we trained with our mutual aid partners from Vischer Ferry on vehicle extrication operations.

On Monday, we focused on stabilization techniques, utilizing the jacking systems each department employs. Scenarios included victims trapped beneath a vehicle.

On Wednesday, we met at Lake Auto and conducted live training scenarios. Crews applied the skills learned earlier in the week while using full extrication equipment to rescue victims from simulated vehicle crashes.

Members from West Crescent and Vischer Ferry were paired together throughout the training, allowing everyone to learn each other’s tools, tactics, and operational approaches.

Thank you to all who participated, and a special thank you to Lake Auto for generously providing vehicles at no cost to support this training.

Join us as we honor the 44 Revolutionary war vets as they motorcade to thier final resting place Wednesday at Approximately 10:30. We will be stationed on Route 9 Between plank and Stone Quarry roads. See estimated times below if you can spare the 20 minutes anywhere on this route.
