Hamden Democrats announce Mayor Lauren Garrett (D) has won a second term as Hamden Mayor. Karimah Mickens (D) also wins the election for another term as Town Clerk along with At-Large Legislave Council candidates Katie Kiely (D), Tasha Hunt (D), Laurie Sweet (D), and Dominique Baez (D). Republicans Thomas Figlar and Bob Anthony won required minority spots for At-Large Legislave Council. Winning district races for Legislative Council are Sean Cardwell (D) in the 1st, Jeron Alston (D) in the 2nd, Abdul Osmanu (D) in the 3rd, Sarah Gallagher (D) in the 4th, Rhonda Caldwell (D) in the 5th, Paula Irvin (D) in the 6th, Adrian Webber (D) in the 7th, Ted Stevens (D) in the 8th, and Jim Anthony (R) in 9th. Winning for 4 year Board of Education terms are Peter Downhour (D), Greta Johnson (D), and Mario Ciccarini (R), along with Christopher Piscitelli (D for a 2 year terms.
Mayor Garrett comments, “I am so honored to serve as Mayor of Hamden for another term. We have gotten so much accomplished in the last 2 years and we have so much more to do. Thank you to all of the amazing candidates on Row A and congratulations to all of the candidates on the ballot that were elected . Hamden is lucky to have Karimah Mickens serving another term as Town Clerk and I am so excited to be working with our returning and new additions to the Legislative Council. Thank you to the voters of Hamden and to all of our volunteers, led by my campaign manager, Hailey Collins for making this happen. Now it’s back to work!”
