Here is our children's program calendar for the month of August! 🚌🎒🏫

Mondays at 9 AM: Move&Groove and Storytime
Start your week with some fun! We will be singing, dancing, and playing instruments, as well as reading a couple of books.
(This program is for children ages birth-5, and their parents/guardians.)

Saturday, August 1st from 6-7:30 PM:
Summer Reading Program Pool Party
(CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER)

Saturday, August 8th from 10-11 AM:
Weekend Storytime - CATS
(Children of all ages welcome.)
(CANCELED DUE TO STAFF ILLNESS.)

Saturday, August 29th from 10-11 AM:
Weekend Storytime - Theme TBD
(Children of all ages welcome.)

Our normally scheduled after-school activities such as STEM Challenge, LEGO Club, Teen Game Night, and crafts will resume in September to give everyone time to get back in the school year routine. 😄

📣 Reminder for our SRP families! 📣

Tomorrow, July 31st is the last day of our 2026 Summer Reading Program! Please have your completed reading logs turned in to the library by 5 PM (closing time) tomorrow evening to be eligible to participate in our SRP pool party.

The pool party will be held this Saturday, August 1st from 6-7:30 at the Hamilton Aquatic Center. 🏊‍♀️

Tomorrow is our final weekly Summer Reading Program meeting of 2026! 🤯

Instead of meeting at the library, we're doing this one field trip style and heading to Green Grass Farm&Gardens! (The address is 1186 N State Highway 96, Hamilton IL, 62341.)📍

Our guest reader this week will be local Dean of Students, Megan Wendling. Our guest presenter will be Sara Harrison from Green Grass Farm&Gardens and Sara's Sweet&Savory. She will be taking us on an educational tour of her farm. 👩‍🌾

Here's a bit about what we'll see!
"Our farm name is Green Grass Farm&Gardens. We grow strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, peaches, and apples. We also raise chickens, ducks, goats, and bees. All of our fruit, eggs, and honey are used in our delicious baked items for Sara's Sweet&Savory, baked right here on our farm. Our goats are born and raised on our farm and are market meat goats, not dairy goats." 🐔🥚🦆🍓🐐🐝

I'm so excited we can finally provide this service to our families with young children. Thank you Carthage for giving this to us!

We're happy to announce that we now have a diaper changing table available for public use. Big thanks to the Carthage Public Library for gifting it to us! You can find the changing station downstairs in the children's section behind the curtains next to the steps. 🚼

Join us tomorrow to see our surprise visitor!

Join us tomorrow morning at 10 in the side yard of the library for our weekly SRP meeting! Our guest reader this week is retired sixth grade teacher, Kelly Celania. She will be reading "The Smart Cookie" by Jory John. Our guest presenter is Chase Hartweg. He will be talking about crops and animals, and he'll be bringing a friend from the farm. Can you guess what it will be? Check the comments!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Library and 💎 bedazzled 💎 a book cover with me!! All the covers looked beautiful ❤️. I think we had just as much fun gossiping and snacking too.

Would anyone be interested in us doing this again next month before the insanity of the school year begins?!
