Community outreach! Talking with kids! Having them remind their parents to check their smoke detectors, have an escape plan or just being friendly and reading a book! We’re always willing! Remember Sunday is Daylight Savings time! Don’t forget to roll those clocks and check/change the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McDougald family and friends, Mac was a legend in the NCFS and served the State of NC and Scotland County faithfully for many years. He also helped the Fire Service in Scotland and Richmond County anyway he could. Rest in peace 80.

🦫🔥Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow — six more weeks of winter. Hamlet Fire & Rescue remains ready, and equipped for whatever comes next. Please remember to keep space heaters 3 feet from anything that can burn, test your smoke and CO alarms, and stay warm.
No matter the weather, your firefighters, and Paramedics are on duty 24/7 to assist our community!

UPDATE: Roads are worse this morning, the packed layer of snow in alot of areas is now a nice packed sheet of ice. Please refrain from going out on the roads for sight seeing and if you HAVE to be out slow it down and take your time, especially if you're anywhere around first responders that are out helping assist. Oh and another reminder: Check those CO and smoke detectors! Most of all be safe and enjoy this time! ❄️❄️❄️❄️

It’s snowing and it’s snowing good! Though we love too see our community, we’d much rather see pictures of you playing in the snow than seeing you in the ditch! Please be mindful and don’t drive unless you absolutely have to!
