The Hammond Urban Enterprise Association is collaborating with the City of Hammond, Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Van Til’s, Old National Bank, and The Branding Room Floor to host a free community meal giveaway TOMORROW!

It will begin at 5 PM at the Hammond Civic Center, and it will be both drive-through and walk-up. To help serve as many community members as possible, meals will be provided one per person present in the vehicle. First come, first-served, while supplies last!

As we start the week, Mayor McDermott and the City of Hammond are sharing an updated graphic of cooling centers, resources, and important information related to storm recovery.

Our crews are still out working around the clock to finish cleaning up our streets and neighborhoods. Remember that downed trees entangled with power lines must be reported and addressed by NIPSCO before our Hammond crews can assist. Residents can report downed lines, check restoration progress, and receive additional information by visiting NIPSCO.com/Out or by calling 1-800-464-7726. Non-emergency storm-related issues and cleanup requests can be submitted through Hammond 311: https://www.gohammond.com/hammond-311/. Before submitting a report, make sure to review the graphic below for more information about what Hammond crews are authorized to assist with.

We encourage residents in need to utilize the Office of the North Township Trustee's Emergency Food Voucher Program and the various resources offered by the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Additional information can be found on the organizations' websites and social media pages.
