Serving as your Probate Judge since 2023 has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This position is so much more than paperwork and court filings — it is walking alongside families during some of the hardest and most meaningful moments of their lives.
Over the years, I have handled everything from routine open-and-close estates to cases that deeply touched my heart. I once spent two days searching for the only surviving family member of an individual who had passed away, eventually locating them in Colorado after they had not spoken in over 20 years. I have worked through cases where families were divided, emotions were high, and property was at stake — helping guide people toward resolution during difficult times.
I have sat with families as they cried on my shoulder through heartbreak and grief, helping them navigate not only the loss of a loved one, but the finality that comes with closing the estate of a parent. Closure looks different for everyone, and I never take lightly the trust families place in me during those moments.
I have also shared in joyful moments — witnessing the laughter and love of couples beginning a new chapter together through marriage. I have reassured families that we would do everything possible to help their loved ones during mental health crises. I have worked closely with local agencies to ensure we are all communicating, learning each other’s protocols, and collaborating to better serve the citizens of Hampton County.
This office does not only deal with land and property issues. Education is important, but experience matters. Probate Court is about so much more than deciding who receives real estate. When dealing with an estate, you must have the ability to look at every side fairly while ensuring families understand that decisions are being made according to the law and that their loved one’s wishes are being carried out properly.
Our work goes far beyond simply opening an estate. We listen. We guide. We handle some of the most emotional and overwhelming situations families will ever face after the loss of a loved one. We are compassionate, involved, and committed to helping people through difficult moments with dignity and care. Sometimes, we are the only shoulder someone has to cry on while navigating unimaginable grief.
Hampton County, when your family faces these circumstances, you want a team with experience standing beside you. You want people who can explain how an estate will be handled, how a will is processed, and how property is divided lawfully and fairly. Most importantly, you want a team that will listen, understand, and genuinely care about what your family is going through.
Experience matters because people matter. Compassion matters. Leadership matters.
Every case represents a family, a story, and a responsibility that I carry with care and dedication every single day. I am proud to continue serving this community with integrity, transparency, and heart.
Thank you for your trust, your support, and the opportunity to serve as your Probate Judge. I humbly ask for your continued support and your vote as we continue moving Hampton County forward together.
