Dozens of student protestors were killed and hundreds wounded this week in Bangladesh among calls for the end to a quota that allocates one-third of government jobs to descendants of Bangladesh's freedom fighters. Students say the discriminatory policy puts the country's youth in a vulnerable position to compete for a limited number of government jobs, in an already struggling economy with a lack of jobs for youth.

Michigan Bangladeshi students and community members gathered this week to protest the killings and stand in solidarity with the students.
