Happy Holidays! The Carlisle Borough Police Department hosted a holiday party for our Bigs, Littles and families this evening. And they even invited Santa Clause!
Lisa Carter was a Big Sister for 8 years. When Rutter's selected her as one of the “Secret Santa” associates to direct a donation to her charity of choice, it was an easy decision.
“I gained something from the [BBBSCR] program and [Rachel] definitely gained a lot. We’d go spend a day on City Island or just spend time together. Anything we would do, she would keep something, a momentum.” Today, Lisa keeps in touch with her Little, Rachel, who now lives in North Carolina. “I’m proud of the young lady she has become. She completed college, all the way up to completing her Masters. She is a successful young lady and has a lot of drive and passion.”

The Harrisburg School District is searching for 100 volunteers to mentor youth in our BBBS school programs. You can make a difference for kids like 10-year-old Avyon. Her Big has helped Avyon build confidence. "I used to be to myself. But not I have a lot of friends and I talk more," she says.

Pumpkin Painting Fall Fun! Ashley and her Little, Rowan, organized today's match activity.
Last month, Ashley gave us a call to say she and her Little, Rowan, wanted to host a Pumpkin Painting Activity for other Bigs and Littles! We gave them the green light, and they got to work planning today's activity. We're looking forward to see all the final and colorful designs!
