Deloitte Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters

“I’m lucky to work for an organization that shares my commitment to our communities and understands, as I do, that children are our future. Deloitte supports programs and events sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters to help [youth] reach their full potential.”

Thank you, Nidhi Jain for sharing how Deloitte supports our mission through event engagement and employees volunteering as workplace mentors in our Beyond School Walls program.

“When I first met Ashley, I was in middle school and I didn’t really know myself yet. I was in a very dark place and I didn’t know how Ashley would react to that, so I kind of just kept quite and didn’t want to talk to her about anything.”

2020 Big and Little Sister of the Year, Ashley and Brianna, were highlighted for #womenshistorymonth. What an amazing story from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.

In recognition of #WomensHistoryMonth we're highlighting our 2020 Big and Little Sister of the Year! Ashley and Brianna, from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, are celebrating 5 years of friendship this month. Ashley is working with her Little Sister to research different career paths, wish Brianna luck!

Thank you, to all of the women in our network - Big Sisters, agency leaders, staff, and board members - who play a critical role in our mission. #BiggerTogether

Thank you Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for sharing our Big Sister's story for #InternationalTransgenderDayOfVisibility!

💭“Be true to yourself and be you.” - Big Sister Janelle

Janelle is a proud Big Sister to Aubury and the first openly transgender woman to become a Big at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. A long-time LGBTQ advocate, Janelle knows first-hand the importance of having a village of support. She says she was lucky—her family, friends and co-workers have always been by her side. But not everyone in the LGBTQ community has that. Today we recognize #InternationalTransgenderDayofVisibility, to celebrate transgender people and their contributions to society, and raise awareness about discrimination.🏳️‍🌈

Thank you Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, for sharing this quote by Abigail Scott Duniway for #WomensHistoryMonth. It's a great reminder of how important it is for young women to have a mentor who empowers and inspires them to pursue their dreams and achieve their full potential.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay! Today and every day we celebrate the great accomplishments of women worldwide. 👑

📥Did you know the 19th amendment was ratified through the United States Constitution in 1920, allowing women the right to vote? While this was a major achievement for women, it came from decades of organizing and advocating for equality - also known as the Women’s Suffrage Movement. These groundbreaking women ignited change across the globe.

Big Brothers Big Sisters believes in empowering young women to break through barriers and ignite their potential just like the women from this movement.

Thank you for providing smiles during this hard time . In a new and safe way, we always dress up for the holidays. Gotta keep traditions. Thank you BBBS for everything you do for families and the community opportunities 🤗🤗🤗
Christmas photos, social distancing of course 🤗🤗
Our research team at Johns Hopkins University is hosting a series of online focus groups (using private groups on Facebook) to understand how mentors are interacting with youth during stay-at-home orders. Please join if you are a mentor, and please share with your colleagues/friends! You can check eligibility and register here: https://bit.ly/2WXJm9p
Does BBBS do things to raise money? I was thinking today that if they do you should consider doing a 5K! I think that would be a great way to support BBBS!!!
Carter and his “Big” JK .. 😊
Today my Little asked me, “How long ago was is that we became best friends?” Melted me heart! Thank you Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region
Very disappointed that I was unable to get my AUTISTIC grandson a Big Brother. This program could be extremely beneficial to children with Autism but they are discriminated against because of their disability. No one wants to work with them I told. How about soliciting college kids for community hours? I’m sure my grandson is not the only autistic kid that could benefit from this program.
TONIGHT! Take a night off in the kitchen or grab lunch for the next day to support a great cause! Please share! https://www.facebook.com/events/709424446086792/?ti=cl
