PA’ians on UC will begin receiving the extra $300 Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) payments passed by Congress last month.

Funds are automatically added to UC claimant payments – Claimants DO NOT need to apply. PA’ians on UC may see FPUC payments as early as Tues., Jan. 12.

L&I has discovered a technical glitch that caused a delay in payments for approx. 4.5% of claimants in the UC, PEUC, and Extended Benefits programs.

We have identified the issue and affected claimants + are on track to reissue the payments next week. We know these benefits are vital to PA’ian families & are doing everything possible to minimize delays. We apologize for the inconvenience and have already taken steps to prevent the issue from recurring.

🚨 UPDATE: On Dec. 27, 2020, a federal COVID-19 relief package that extends and provides additional federal unemployment benefits was signed into law by the President. We are reviewing the new unemployment provisions and awaiting detailed guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor outlining how the CARES Act program extensions must be implemented.

Please review the date of your initial application and determine which action you must take at this time (See below) ⤵

Once guidance is received, we will implement the extensions as quickly as possible to bring much-needed relief to eligible claimants.

REMINDER: FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency has set the deadline to apply for the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program and all applications must be submitted by Friday, December 25, 2020. Claims submitted after this deadline will not be approved by the federal government.

Claimants who need to complete the certification process should:
✅ Visit www.uc.pa.gov/cert and log in using your PIN as if you are filing a biweekly claim
✅ Select the "Complete LWA Certification" button and fill out the certification.
✅ Complete this certification only one time.
