Pennsylvania Leadership Conference

Pennsylvania Leadership Conference Since 1989, the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference has become the largest statewide gathering of public-policy conservatives. The idea for the first Pennsylvania Leadership Conference originated with two college students, John Fluharty and John Hanks, who envisioned the conference as an outreach to young people.

From that idea, the conference grew into a statewide gathering of public policy conservatives. Under the guidance of Susan Staub, Jim Panyard, Charlie Gerow and Don Eberly, the first conference was held in 1989. Following the huge success of the first conference, they recognized the need for a year-round organization to serve as a center for the conservative community – the Pennsylvania Leadership Council (PLC). The first President of the Pennsylvania Leadership Council was Lowman S. Henry (currently with the Lincoln Institute). Succeeding presidents were Sean Duffy (current Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications to Colorado Governor Bill Owens), and Gorden Blain. In recent years, the PLC has served as an umbrella organization bringing together conservative groups on an issue-by-issue basis. Throughout its existence, this non-partisan, not-for-profit organization has been the heart of the conservative coalition, working with allies to fight for better schools, lower taxes, responsible spending, open government and stronger families. The Pennsylvania Leadership Conference remains the signature event of the Pennsylvania Leadership Council. The conference is a two-day issues forum that brings together activists from across the Commonwealth to share ideas, network, and discuss issues with conservative leaders and elected officials. Over the years, the conference has hosted many prominent national speakers including: Newt Gingrich, M. Stanton Evans, Bill Bennett, Robert Novak, Alan Keyes, Lynn Cheney, Armstrong Williams, Walter Williams, and David Horowitz. The most recent Pennsylvania Leadership Conference was held in 2001 until it returned bigger and better than ever in April of 2005 and 2006. We expect to build upon the success of 2007's conference!

We do hereby proclaim the 2020 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference to be an official protest against the unconstitutional, illegal and draconian shut-down policies that have violated the God-given personal liberties we all enjoy as citizens of this great land.

Therefore, please join us September 25-26 for the 2020 PLC free from any of the arbitrary and capricious restrictions formerly placed upon We the People of Penn's Woods.

Pennsylvania Leadership Conference - PLC 2020 - Rescheduled to Mid-September

Given the restrictions on large gatherings, and out of concern over the health and well-being of our attendees, the 2020 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference scheduled for March 27-28 will be RESCHEDULED for mid-September.

Our featured speaker, Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz has graciously agreed to rescheduling his appearance. We will be working this week to schedule a new date in September for the conference.

I would ask everyone to sit tight for the next few days as we work out details. My hope is all sponsors/exhibitors signed-up for the conference will participate in the rescheduled event in September. Also, to the degree possible, we plan on keeping the agenda in place. Meaning all panels/panelists, speakers, workshops, etc. planned for the conference will remain intact subject to schedule availability of the participants.

Once we have the rescheduled date and location locked in, I will be back in touch with you to provide additional details.

This is a challenging time for our nation. I ask that you pray for President Trump, Vice President Pence, Governor Wolf and all those in the government, medical and financial communities who are working tirelessly to see us through this crisis.

*****
Mike Turzai, Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives moved Pennsylvania Republicans from defense to offense against high taxes, reckless spending, and generational debt.

As the state representative from Bradford Woods, Turzai challenged Capitol culture by helping lead a successful repeal of the unconstitutional legislative pay raise. As the Republican Majority Leader, he led the fights for long-stalled reforms to limit state spending, cut taxes, and make every dollar of state spending public and online. Turzai and House Republicans were credited with delivering one of the most pro-growth job agendas in decades.

As Speaker of the House of Representatives, Turzai has been the most vocal and effective opponent of Governor Tom Wolf’s multi-billion-dollar strategy to raise taxes on families and job creators.

A lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, Mike was born in Sewickley and raised in Moon Township. After graduating from Our Lady of Sacred Heart High School in 1977, Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame before earning his Juris Doctor from Duke University in 1987.
Mike and his wife, Dr. Lidia Turzai—a Pittsburgh-area pediatrician—have three sons, Andrew, Stephen, and Matthew. The family is active in church, school, and community activities near their home in Marshall Township.

Watch this powerful documentary on hellhole Philadelphia and its destruction over the last seven decades by communist democrats. The video has some curse words but the producer is spot on with the facts. You will see what Philly looks like from the streets. In 2019, Philly is averaging 2.5-3 murders a day (majority black on black crime). Forward this to everyone who “thinks” socialism is “good”; if they want a self destructive, corrupt, hellhole - look no further than Philly!
