Auditor General DePasquale: Ethics Commission Fines Former Luzerne County Elections Director in Case Referred by His Department

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today said the state Ethics Commission, acting on a referral he made, has fined the former Luzerne County elections director for failing to disclose her ties to an equipment vendor before suggesting the county purcha

Auditor General calls for change to state's charter school law after review of PA Cyber, Lincoln Park

Now more than ever, it's absolutely imperative that the charter school law be updated to allow for greater transparency about where our tax dollars are going.

Charter school management organizations receive public funds—so they should operate under the same level of accountability we expect of our school districts.

The two schools are managed by Lincoln Learning Solutions, a nonprofit that receives tax dollars and has $82M in funds.

Pa. Turnpike raising tolls again in 2021; those without E-ZPass will pay much more

As I've said before, these increases are putting the turnpike on a road to ruin. Tolls can only be raised so many times before drivers start using detours.

The Turnpike Commission approved a 6-percent increase for those using E-ZPass. The commission also approved a a 45-percent increase for "Toll by Plate" rates, now that the toll road is cash-free.

Auditor General DePasquale: Lincoln Learning Solutions’ $81.8 Million Reserve Points to Further Need for Charter School Law Reforms

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: PA has the worst charter school law in the nation.

At a time when districts face enormous revenue shortfalls, taxpayers deserve to know exactly where their money is going.

The General Assembly should revisit PA's charter school law to make sure education funding isn't being diverted to benefit private companies.

House Approves Measure to Stop Pharmacist 'Gag Clauses' | The Legal Intelligencer

As I've warned for years, gag clauses prevent pharmacists from giving customers advice on how to save money on their prescriptions.

I applaud the House for unanimously approving this measure.

The House of Representatives by a unanimous vote July 7 approved a measure that would stop pharmacy benefit managers from imposing “gag clauses” on pharmacists, which may prevent them from recommending less expensive alternative prescription drugs.

Still not one single peep on pa lottery
And still not one word on the lottery not surprised
Nothing will stand in the way of Trump’s mission to dismantle the Affordable Care Act -- not even a public health crisis that’s killed more than 86,000 Americans. The Trump Administration has announced that they plan to move forward with their lawsuit to overturn the Affordable Care Act, which threatens to rip healthcare from millions of American families and eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions. If the court sides with the Trump Administration in overturning the ACA, this will be our new reality: Insurance coverage for over 24 million Americans: ELIMINATED Protections for 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions: GONE Medicaid expansion for 17 million Americans: SCRAPPED As the COVID-19 death toll rises above 86,000, and more than 1.4 million Americans have become infected with the virus, Trump is doubling-down on his politically-motivated obsession with terminating the ACA.
Hello - When will the audit report on the Wilkes-Barre Area School District be released?
PA A.G. - When will you finalize/release your report of your audit of the Wilkes-Barre area school district?
You guys are gonna be in shock when I share what happened today! I have had My boy since Friday! We have been doing just what the Governor told us to do! I have had a possible exposure to the virus! He was to go back Monday at noon. I didn’t find out about possibility of exposure til Sunday night. I appealed to his Dad telling him of everything and was waiting on a call back from the doctor advising us what to do! After texting back and forth and much name calling on his part he made the decision to call the police. The police arrived asked me what was happening! I explained the situation. The Hampden cop didn’t listen. He could’ve cared less. After all that and to make a long story short the cop said I had to relinquish him to his Dad and if he had to come back to my house he would have to escort the boy from my home. He said the Dad said he was willing to take the risk!!!! All the while the child of my heart was sobbing! He told the police officer he didn’t feel safe at that home he went on to tell them why!!! Cop still didn’t care! I had to take him back! This was a heart wrenching decision. Almost as bad as the day my child passed away! I need to let someone in the governors office know the Hampden cop said to me that the fathers rights trumped the Govenors orders! This is such a crock! Here we go again!!! Not in the best interest of the child that’s for sure!!!!!
What a perfect time for corona virus hopefully everyone will forget the audit thay was supposed to be going on at the lottery which has been months and months with zero mention
This as well needs investigated. Thank you.
Please investigate this Mr. Depasquale. With so many of our local leaders under the spell of this corruption we need someone from outside the area to push for change. Thank you.
Vince Arcurio lied about being exonerated and the State Ethics Report and Consent Order clearly shows the history of collusion and secret backroom deals that the school board engaged in at the Union Social with many government officials. This nearly 20 year history of quid pro quo needs investigated by Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer and PA Auditor General Eugene DePasquale to find out who else had side deals and how far reaching this is in government. Will that happen? Will anything change? And what deal did Vince make as alluded to in the consent order with reference to cooperating in the future? I thank former school board president Richard Unger for stepping up and telling the truth proving to the children how to be and I call on the new school board members to terminate Amy Arcurio's superintendent contract and for the remaining involved board members to resign. The work cleaning up the corruption in Johnstown is just beginning and I ask for the communities support in ridding out this cancer. Thanks to WJAC for correctly covering this ongoing story. I hope the Auditor General's office investigates this fully as a follow up to your 2017 audit of the Greater Johnstown School District.
Green Ridge St. Bridge, Scranton needs minor repair NOT replacement
