It was great to see our PA ProStart educators back in State College for this year's Instructor Workshop! Thanks to our special guests who each brought some food for thought to the table:
- IUP Academy of Culinary Arts Chef Erin Reed lead a "Baking 101" demo with ideas for simple lessons to use within classroom timeframe
- Emily Kovach from PA Eats shared how to connect with local farmers and discussing food insecurity with students
- John Marshall and Dana Noto from Get Beyond talked POS resources for schools
- Penn State School of Hospitality Management Professor Amit Sharma discussed sustainability in the classroom and how to get students engaged

The group enjoyed an interactive experience at the beautiful RE Farm Cafe, eating lunch prepared with ingredients they foraged on the RE Farm Cafe/Windswept Farm grounds.

Thank you to Toftrees Golf Resort for hosting the workshop, and to all who contributed and attended! We are looking forward to a great school year ahead.

Since it was early summer, most hotels were in need of front desk clerks and I thought it sounded pretty fun. I knew within the first three weeks of working that this was going to become a career for me.

On the job training is amazing in this industry. Everything I know about using a computer, doing accounting, marketing, my communication skills, they have all come from being at work.
