Mask Up

Evidence shows that asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic people can spread COVID-19 to others, according to the CDC. Wearing a facemask in public, especially when you can’t consistently maintain social distancing, can help prevent you from unknowingly spreading COVID-19 to others. Wonder how a membership with the Chamber can help support your business and keep you connected? Amy Mehl with Graphtech shared how participating with the Chamber has helped with business and professional development:

❝I’m so thankful for my involvement with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, now more so than ever. The Chamber has kept me in touch with my business contacts, updated our company on many issues and enabled me to continue networking and making new connections as the pandemic has progressed.

Each interaction and collaboration I have shared with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber throughout the years has been a positive and enhancing experience. I have grown personally and professionally from their events and sponsorship opportunities, not to mention the amazing Lean In Circle and Chamber Business Women programs.

The Chamber brings so much value to our membership that it’s hard to imagine what we would do without them. On behalf of Graphtech and myself, I thank the Chamber and look forward to our future endeavors!❞

Proposed COVID-19 Limited Liability Reform - Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC

Last week, our Government Relations Committee and Chamber Board Executive Committee discussed and adopted a formal position in support of temporary, limited liability protection for health care workers, health care facilities and other business/individuals limiting the ability to be sued on issues related to #COVID19. This position reflects the very real concerns of our membership.

Our position is aligned with the PA Chamber of Business & Industry and the US Chamber, as action is pending at both the State and Federal level. This legislation would protect organizations taking proper precautions to operate responsibly under the threat of COVID-19 without fear of expensive, in some cases, frivolous lawsuits. We are in constant communication with our Federal and State Delegations on this issue. We appreciate their consideration and support in the Harrisburg Region for our health care systems, businesses, and not-for-profits.

We ❤️ this testimonial from our member Tom Kaden of Someone To Tell It To about how his Chamber membership has helped him stay connected:

❝During this season of distancing, when physical contact could potentially be a mortal threat, The Harrisburg Regional Chamber has risen to the challenge by giving us (as members) avenues to remain closely connected, healthy, and well. I recently heard someone say on a podcast, “never waste a terrible adversity,” and the Chamber has done exactly that, used this adversity to create conversations, connections, dialogues, resources and so much more. I’m a better person, a better leader, a better steward because of the Chamber’s impact on my life and the world.❞

Our member Jenna Reitz from Members 1st Federal Credit Union explains how her Chamber membership has supported her in the recent months:

❝The Harrisburg Regional Chamber has truly had a big impact on my life during the pandemic. The opportunity to participate in the Chamber’s webinars and support groups made me feel supported and feel less alone. The Lean In Circle program helped me learn and grow not just professionally but personally. They have also provided me with helpful resources and ideas related to our community, ways to help out, and difficult topics going on in our country that allowed us the comfort to talk about our thoughts and concerns. I want to thank the Harrisburg Regional Chamber for the opportunity to participate in these rewarding experiences!❞

One of our members and Chamber Ambassadors, Karen Young, owner of HR Resolutions, expressed how her Chamber membership has supported her business:

❝Once again, the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC has upped their game even during these unprecedented times! I am honored to be a long-time member and continue to receive a return from my investment through existing networking opportunities (i.e. Committee Membership), new educational opportunities (i.e. an increase in webinar offerings) and new “virtual” ways to connect with my fellow members (like Coffee and Connections). I truly look forward to Friday morning conversations with my fellow members – it’s actually an easier, less pressured, way to network and connect. You cannot go wrong with a membership in the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC!❞
