Attorney General Josh Shapiro

Attorney General Josh Shapiro The Pennsylvania Attorney General, the Commonwealth's top law enforcement official.

My office knows the difference between protest and violence.

If you organized a plan to carry out yesterday’s illegal attack on our country from Pennsylvania, and we have evidence you participated, we will use every tool at our disposal to hold you accountable.

01/07/2021

The words of the President and his enablers encouraged the riotous behaviour you saw on the Capitol steps today.

Despite efforts to derail our democratic process, Congress will return to the floor tonight and the will of the people will stand.

There has been no evidence of widespread fraud in Pennsylvania. No other state’s election has been scrutinized as much as Pennsylvania’s, and President Trump and his allies have found nothing to back up their outrageous claims.

Federal and state judges at every level—including multiple judges appointed by President Trump—have rejected the claims put forward by the President’s campaign and its allies.

In Explosive Debate, Pa. GOP Refuses To Swear In Reelected Democratic Senator

Free and secure elections are the keystone of our Commonwealth. Over the past six months my office has vigorously and successfully defended Pennsylvania’s election law from unprecedented and often meritless attacks. That work is done — our elections have been held with a clear set of rules under the law and their outcomes must be followed.

In the 45th State Senate district, ballots were cast and counted, election contests were settled by our courts, and the result was certified by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. The process followed long-established state law and is over. The law dictates that Senator Brewster should be seated; the people of Allegheny and Westmoreland must be heard in Harrisburg.

After his slim victory was certified by the state, Pennsylvania Senate Republicans refused to seat Democratic state Sen. Jim Brewster, saying they will "review" the outcome of the race.

Soon, Congress will meet to count the Electoral College votes and formally declare a winner of the Presidential election.

Certain members of Congress have indicated that they plan to object to Pennsylvania’s electoral votes.

There is absolutely *no* basis for any such objection.

Any member who objects is disregarding the U.S. Constitution and federal law.

Pennsylvania’s election was free, fair, and conducted in accordance with PA laws. The results were certified by Governor Wolf, and Pennsylvania’s electors cast their votes for President-Elect Biden.

Protecting Pennsylvania Farmers and Haulers | Attorney General Josh Shapiro

My Office worked with the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board to create a simple one page declaration that any milk farmer or hauler can fill out in order to keep money they properly earned.

I’m proud to represent PA’s milk farmers and haulers. But even if you’re a farmer or hauler in another state — you can still use the form we developed: https://www.mmb.pa.gov/Consumer/Pages/default.aspx

Fill it out, keep your money, and relax. I’ve got your back.

Pennsylvania, New Jersey join anti-trust lawsuit against Google

For too long, regulators have not taken needed steps to protect a free, open, competitive marketplace online. Big tech companies must meet the same standards of any other business in this country and play by the rules put in place to protect consumers.

Josh Shapiro among 48 attorneys general to file antitrust lawsuit against Facebook

As we speak, @Facebook is doing all it can to stifle competition, prey on smaller companies, and punish anyone it can’t buy through cutting off access to services and info. This isn't how normal businesses operate — it's how illegal monopolies operate.

The FTC said Facebook has engaged in “a systematic strategy” to eliminate its competition, including by purchasing smaller up-and-coming rivals like Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014.
