Connecticut Charter Schools Association We fight every day to ensure every Connecticut child has equitable educational options.

The Connecticut Charter Schools Association is a nonprofit membership organization that serves as a unified voice for the 21 public charter schools, representing their interests at the state and local levels. We believe that a growing, more effective public charter school sector will significantly increase student outcomes throughout the state. We envision a future where every child in Connecticut

has the opportunity to attend a great public charter school where he or she can unlock their full potential.

The Great Schools for Connecticut Project is excited to announce that Taino CoLAB Charter High School New Haven has been awarded more than $1.4 million in federal Charter Schools Program Grant funding!

The city's newest public charter school plans to open its doors to 9th grade students in 2027, adding a grade level each year to eventually serve 400 high school students. This funding will help support their opening and expansion as they work to bring a new, high-quality public school option to New Haven students.

We were excited to attend the groundbreaking of the new Early Learning Center at New Beginnings Family Academy today!

School leaders, staff, and partners were joined by Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim to break ground on the facility that will allow NBFA to double the number of preschoolers they serve, filling a critical need in their community.

NBFA's efforts to staff and furnish the center are supported by a grant from our Great Schools for Connecticut Project, which operates a competitive subgrant competition distributing federal Charter Schools Program Grant funding. Congratulations, NBFA!

PreK dressed up today to reflect the careers they want to pursue in the future. We have doctors and law enforcement people and psychotherapists, teachers, etc. A mom came in to share her experience working in the Air Force. We hope our students dream big.

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a split decision in a much-anticipated case involving efforts to open a religious charter school in Oklahoma, effectively blocking the plan.

The split decision leaves in place the previous ruling from Oklahoma's State Supreme Court, which determined that allowing the school to open would violate First Amendment limitations on the government's involvement with religion.
