Attention residents of #HavredeGrace,

With the decision by Governor Hogan to move forward with Stage 2 of the COVID-19 Recovery Plan, the SHCo has made the decision to suspend being involved with birthday celebrations. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the SHCo has completed over 30 birthday celebrations for our residents. We hope the SHCo being involved brought a little extra joy for those being celebrated, as we certainly enjoyed being a part of your day. We greatly appreciate the support. Stay safe!!

*Edit - If you already have something scheduled with us, we will be there!*

Do you think you may have COVID-19? If you think you’re sick, follow guidance about when to call your doctor:

• Monitor your symptoms
• Call ahead before visiting your doctor
• Avoid close contact with others when you’re out

Most people who get COVID-19 can take care of themselves at home. If you need to see a doctor, take precautions to protect yourself and others around you. See more: https://bit.ly/2wf7sS7

No, you aren't seeing things. That's an in-service BLS unit at Susquehanna Hose Company - Division 4.

#SHCo leadership accepted a request, put out to all Harford County Fire Companies by Harford County Department of Emergency Services, and you will now see a Hart to Heart Transportation Ambulance handling emergency & non emergency calls for service from our station. Their providers will staff the ambulance at Division 4 for the next three weeks between the hours of 8am & 8pm, with Harford DES having the authority to transfer them to different stations throughout the county, to assist with high call volumes. We'd like to welcome them to #HavredeGrace and thank them for assisting the community.

We hope everyone enjoyed the entertainment & visits from the Easter Bunny 🐰 today!! While times haven’t been easy recently, we hope this served as a chance to put a smile on your face & get a break from the stress.

We’d like to send a special thank you to Darius Farley, of King Darius Productions, for loaning the DJ equipment & putting our soundtrack together for us, and also to Angela Ashby & Pastor Adam Barnes of the Restore Church for loaning the costumes. Without the support, today wouldn’t have been possible.

We hope you’re able to enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay safe!! #HavredeGrace #HdG #SHCo #HdGStrong

⚠️⚠️PLEASE SHARE ⚠️⚠️

To the Residents of the Havre de Grace:

Based off an updated directive from Harford County, and to protect our volunteers and citizens, you will see us wearing the following personal protective equipment on ALL EMS calls: gloves, face masks & eye protection. For calls involving persons under investigation (those with COVID-19 symptoms) our personal protective equipment will be upgraded to include N95 masks & gowns. While our intent is not to cause fear or panic, we are taking all measures to protect those involved during these incidents. Please follow the directions from the crews on scene, so we can reduce the risk of possible exposures.

If you are to call 911 for ANY type of assistance (Fire, EMS, Police), you will be screened over the phone to inquire if there's anyone within your household experiencing symptoms. Please keep in mind that this screening process is NOT delaying response & is being utilized to protect not only the responders, but those within your household as well. Please follow along & answer the 911 Center's questioning as directed.

Also during this time, our fire houses will remain CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. If you need emergency assistance, dial 911. If you need non-emergency assistance, dial (410)638-3400.

As a reminder - please stay home whenever possible, continue to wash your hands, and if you MUST go out, follow social distancing.

We thank you for the support!! Stay safe!!

To the Residents of the Havre de Grace:

Our department is asking you to please follow these precautions during the COVID-19 outbreak.

If you are quarantined (mandatory or self imposed) in your home due to possible or confirmed COVID-19 exposure, PLEASE notify 911 when you call and advise the dispatcher. We also ask that you place a sign/note on your front door to alert our firefighters to take infection-prevention precautions before entering your home or business.

We need to protect our crews so that they will be able to continue to meet the emergency needs of the community. Elsewhere, there have been entire fire companies quarantined after they have responded to quarantined homes and were not alerted before entering. Those first responders are now unavailable to help anyone for at least 14 days.

In our department we cannot afford to have this happen and being VOLUNTEER we do not want to have to take it home to our families.

Thank you for your understanding!!

St. Baldrick's Havre de Grace - Bill Bateman's

Good morning friends of St. Baldrick’s Havre de Grace! As you are all aware our home/venue over the past 6 years closed for business last week. Since we first heard the news about the closing we’ve been working on finding a new location for our 2020 head shaving event. After developing a detailed list of our event wants and needs. We visited several locations in the area that were available on or around the date that we had set for this year. We then made a list of Pros and Cons for each location that we visited. After several days of discussions we’ve decided that our best choice for this year is the Greene Turtle in Aberdeen, MD. Please know that this decision to venture away from HdG for this year was not an easy one. However, with the time constraints and logistics of the event we believe that we have made the best choice moving forward. We are already working on our plan for’21 and after the big shave day we will start looking at dates and location availability in HdG.

The Greene Turtle is very excited to host us and we look forward to another great event for 2020. They’ll be donating 10% of food and drinks(alcohol included) towards our fundraising event. So come on out and let’s have a party!

All the fun stuff from the past years for the kids will still take place so be sure to bring them along. THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT!

Our 2020 event will be held
April 18, 2020
12pm-“until the last head is shaved” or closing time.
Greene Turtle-Aberdeen
1113 Beards Hill Road, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001

If you’re not familiar with the area around the Greene Turtle there are several hotels within walking distance. So consider playing it safe and booking a room early!

Now it’s time to raise money for Childhood Cancers Research. Get registered today! Let’s make this year another banner year and keep the event one of the best events on the East coast. Bring your family and friends. We hope to see you there!

ISO Review of SHCo today. ISO reviews the SHCo operations, training, staffing, apparatus, fire prevention and many other things. This combined with a review of the City’s water system, the County’s Dispatch operations and the Fire Marshals Office investigations, set forth a score/class that most insurance companies use to set your homeowners insurance rates. Thus saving the taxpayers of Havre de Grace hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

SHCo is currently a Class 2 and has taken several steps geared towards becoming an ISO Class 1.
