Pedagogy for Parents is an upcoming 6 week course, beginning September 1st supporting parents, guardians and caregivers.

At Studio Pathways, our long-standing work in education has been to share methods for teaching and learning based in guiding the inherent curiosity, intelligences, and artistry of the child. We use educational frameworks rooted in brain science and cognitive development that do not perpetuate systems of oppression or lead with deficit mindsets about who we or our children are. The time is now for change in public education! CREATIVITY IS NOT OPTIONAL!
Let's put our hearts and minds together at Inventing Our Future, June 18-19 at Oakland Technical High School.
Join youth leaders and national activists and experts to take action, collaborate and transform public education.

According to Create CA Arts Education Data Project, only 25% of all Alameda County secondary students and 12% of all secondary schools have the opportunity for learning in all arts disciplines. Our students deserve better! Our collective future depends on it!

Joining us this year will be Cleo Barnett and Isabella Sisneros, two of the young leaders behind Amplifier the organization responsible for the visual movements We The People, Women's March on Washington, and We The Future. Together, we will learn from Cleo and Isabella how to magnify social movements through public art both in and outside of the classroom! Register now!

"Our data suggests that traditional instruction seems to perpetuate the achievement gap for students performing at the lower levels of academic achievement. We also found that students at advanced levels of achievement didn't lose any learning from incorporating arts into classrooms, but potentially gained benefits such as engagement in learning and enhanced thinking dispositions. For these reasons, we would encourage educators to adopt integrating the arts into content instruction," Hardiman concluded.
