Kentucky River Area Development District Serving the Counties of: Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, and Wolfe.

The Kentucky River Area Development District is a quasi-governmental agency working with city and county governments in the KRADD area to improve the quality of life for our citizens. KRADD serves as a representative of local units of government and citizens throughout the area as a communication network for cities, counties, state and federal governments.

KRADD Regional Disaster Coordinator Tim Koogler hosted a disaster preparedness presentation at the Breathitt County Senior Center, providing local seniors with valuable information on preparing for emergencies and staying safe during severe weather events. Following the presentation, weather radios were distributed to attendees through a grant secured by KRADD.

KRADD Regional Disaster Coordinator Tim Koogler visited the Knott County Senior Center to speak with local seniors about disaster preparedness and emergency readiness. Thanks to a grant written by KRADD, weather radios were distributed to attendees following the presentation to help them stay informed during severe weather and other emergencies.

We appreciate the opportunity to share important preparedness information with our senior citizens and look forward to continuing these presentations throughout the region. Contact your local senior center for more information about upcoming events and opportunities to participate.

🚰 Attention Schools & Childcare Centers in Eastern Kentucky

KRADD's Community & Economic Development staff, led by Infrastructure Coordinator Ashley Blair, is reaching out to public schools and childcare facilities across Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, and Wolfe Counties about a valuable opportunity for free lead testing and remediation support through EPA WIIN Act funding.

Testing drinking water for lead is an important step in protecting children's health and preparing for upcoming Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.

KRADD had a great time speaking with seniors at the Letcher County Senior Center today about disaster preparedness! Thanks to a grant written by KRADD, every senior who attended received a weather radio to help them stay informed and safe during emergencies.

We'll be visiting senior centers throughout our service area in the coming weeks, including Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, and Wolfe counties. Contact your local senior center for more information including upcoming events and opportunities to participate!
