Friends of the Northfields

Friends of the Northfields This page is meant to communicate with our Summit County and Wasatch County friends on the importance of preserving the Northfields for future generations.

The Wasatch County Commission (Utah) is considering a change to the MASTER PLAN zoning in the Northfields from 1 home per 20 acres, to 1 home per 5 acres. This decision will happen in November 2012. There has already been a public hearing in August, and the only input they will take now is written comments. The Wasatch County Master Plan for A-20 zoning states: “Avoid excessive costs for public se

rvices in areas with high physical constraints, preserve the beauty of the entry corridors of Wasatch County, protect the underground water supply from pollution, and maintain an open rural buffer between Heber and Midway City.” (2002 Code § 16.06.01)
Please sign this petition (and leave your comments!) to ask them not to change the zoning, and allow the Northfields to stay ranchland as intended by the founding fathers of the Heber Valley. The Northfields is in the north entry corridor of the valley, starting at the intersection of US 40 and River Road (highway 32) continuing south to Midway Lane (highway 113) and on the EAST side of the Provo River.
