The RHAM Video Production Club has entered the manufacturing video challenge again this year. They're taking online votes for Audience Choice video now. At stake is bragging rights and some cash for the club, too, so please vote and vote often (you can vote multiple times). We've won this before, so let's keep the trophy here at RHAM!

20 members of the Andover, Hebron, and RHAM CERT teams provided first aid and radio communications throughout Gay City State Park this morning for the annual 3 and 5 mile Solstice Runs. CERTs treated a lacerated knee before turning care over to Hebron FD, treated a minor head wound, and searched for (and found) runners who became lost in the park. The CERT mobile command post served as the communications base for the event. Many thanks to all CERTs and Hebron FD personnel who assisted on this Fathers' Day morning.

Busy morning. While several Andover-Hebron CERTs were teaching fire extinguishers at Andover FD's open house, a group of RHAM CERTs were filming a drive-through flu shot clinic in Norwich with another Andover-Hebron CERT.

Last night 9 Andover-Hebron CERTs and 1 RHAM CERT teamed up with the D.A.W.G.S. canine search team to practice searching for lost persons in Hurd State Park. The exercise ran from 6:30 to 11:30 PM in cold temperatures. The CERTs deployed the command trailer, ran radio communications, practiced searches, and played victims for the dogs to find. Looks like Hurricane Joaquin will head out to sea. Good news for us!

We need to keep a close eye on Hurricane Joaquin. Although yesterday's forecasts looked like a clean miss for CT, the track has changed. This morning's track puts Joaquin on a path that could impact CT early next week. Although there's still plenty of time for the storm to swerve away from us, the time has come to start making some preparations. Check your generator and fuel levels. Make sure you have at least 3 days of bottled water, food, and medicine on hand. If Joaquin keeps coming our way, those items could sell out pretty quickly this weekend. Stay tuned. Joaquin's track is changing frequently.

CERT at the fair: Helped search for 4 lost persons. Found one of them. Taught hundreds of people how to use a fire extinguisher. Handed out scores of informational pamphlets and handouts. Helped operate the Faircomm communications center. Met lots of nice people. Good weekend.
