Today I spoke at the Vision Park, in conjunction with the Blind Center of Nevada, Ribbon Cutting and presented a City Certificate. Great experience, terrific facility and such wonderful living apartments for one of our most vulnerable segments of our population. It was an honor to be there representing the city and our partnership in this.

I support bringing more educational opportunities to Henderson families. The conditional approval of Nexus Charter School is an exciting step toward opening a new 6–12 campus in east Henderson for the 2027–2028 school year. Mayor Michelle Romero and I will continue working together to make sure our growing community has access to more choices and opportunities for the future.

Enjoyed the sold out lunch meeting today announcing the newly formed Southern Nevada Development Coalition. I love the combined efforts of working together to achieve even greater successes for our community.

This morning I toured the Serving Our Kids location in our city with Mayor Michelle Romero. I recently heard their executive director speak and had to learn more about them. They send food home with kids on the weekends. The stories are heart wrenching and we need to do better. I am on board to be a part of the change we need to see happen.

This morning I joined Principal Joshua Wikler and welcomed students back to school. Bonus was welcoming my granddaughter Molly back. Good luck to all parents and students today. Go Bobcats!

Today we honored our Purple Heart Recipients. It was a beautiful solemn ceremony filled with both joy and sadness. Thank you to all who serve our country and all who serve and protect our city. Godspeed.

We proudly recognize National Purple Heart Day by honoring the brave individuals who have sacrificed so much in service to our nation. Their courage will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.

Quality Education has always been important to me, so tonight was a true highlight for our city. We celebrated the opening of Kesher Academy, our first charter school under our Charter Authority. We are committed to improving the quality of education in our city. Congratulations to all involved in bringing this to fruition, onward!

To all my constituents — Carnegie Street between Horizon Ridge and Paseo Verde has been repaved and ready for school next week! I told you it was coming! We even have a brand new signal to replace the stop sign.
