A lot of campaigns stay broad or present no actual plans/stances/policy proposals, so I want to be direct about where I stand and what I would advocate for as one vote on the Henderson City Commission. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out!
Government Transparency & Accessibility
• Advocate for city commission meetings to be moved to 5:30pm to allow more working people to attend and be engaged.
• Push for increased public communication on major city projects and decisions.
• Support stronger public engagement before major votes or developments.
• Establish a city-wide engagement calendar/dashboard to keep residents updated on important city-happenings.
• I will personally commit to quarterly town halls around Henderson, and a monthly newsletter that clearly explains votes, and important updates.
Infrastructure & Neighborhood Investment
• Advocate for fiscally responsible long-term infrastructure planning
• Support increased (where applicable) investment in roads, sidewalks, drainage, lighting, and neighborhood quality of life
• Push for equitable investments across Henderson, not just high-growth areas, or one neighborhood
Youth Retention & Civic Engagement
• Propose a Commission on Youth Success focused on youth retention, workforce pathways, recreation, civic engagement, and quality of life
• Advocate for stronger connections between local government, schools, employers, and young adults
• Advocate for more leadership and volunteer opportunities for young people in Henderson
Economic & Workforce Development
• Support collaboration between the city, local employers, schools, and workforce organizations
• Focus on retaining and attracting young workers and families
• Support practical economic growth that strengthens Henderson long-term
• Continue to support Chamber, Henderson Economic Development, and Tourism initiatives to drive population growth, industry expansion, and attraction to retailers and hotels
Quality of Life
• Support parks, recreation, downtown activity, and community spaces that make people want to stay in Henderson
• Advocate for policies that strengthen public trust, safety, and community connection
• Focus on building a city where families, businesses, retirees, and young people can all see a future
What is my Leadership Style?
• Communicate directly and openly with the public
• Be accessible and engaged in the community
• Work collaboratively, even when there are disagreements
• Focus on practical solutions over political theater
• I don't have all the answers- I never will, but I do know how to ask the right questions and find the people who do.
City commissioners are one part of a five-member board. No single commissioner can unilaterally change policy. My goal is to be a strong advocate for these priorities, ask good questions, bring people into the conversation, and help move Henderson forward in a thoughtful and practical way.
