Good evening Rusk County Pct. 4 residents.
My name is Brett Cross and I am proud to be running for Rusk County Commissioner Precinct 4. I have 10 1/2 years of road and bridge experience. I am the son of Suzanne Cross & the late Bryan Edward Cross. I have lived in Rusk County Precinct 4 all of my life. I have been married for 25 years to my wife Melanie and we have two sons. We attend the First Christian Church in Henderson. I have been an elected board member of the Good Springs Water Supply Corporation for the past three years. My family is deeply rooted in Rusk County. As a commissioner it will be my commitment to use our tax dollars more efficiently and to create more transparency for the public. I will work diligently with the other commissioners to resolve our stray animal crisis and feral hog problem within our county. I will insure the safety for all residents in this area by maintaining the county roads and bridges, removing dead, hazardous trees leaning over our roadways and making sure roadside litter is picked up on a regular basis. I am pro law enforcement and will always support our local Sheriff’s Department, Fire Departments and First Responders. As a full time commissioner, I will be available for your questions or concerns at all times. I am running for this office because I care about all of the constituents of Rusk County Pct. 4. I am Brett Cross, candidate for Rusk County Commissioner, Precinct 4 and I want to clarify and add a few things for all voters to think about before Tuesday, 2/17 when early voting starts.

My family and I are lifetime residents of Rusk County and precinct 4. I care about the residents of Rusk County as a whole and Precinct 4. I will truly put the people first.

When elected, I am committed to:

Improving county roads and infrastructure to keep families safe and support local growth (ie. Building relationships with power companies to ensure we keep our roadways clear and up to acceptable standards, researching all materials that can be used to fix our roads economically, and utilizing time efficiently to care for our roadways as well as keeping our equipment in excellent working condition).

Protecting taxpayers by using county funds responsibly and transparently

Supporting local law enforcement, first responders, and emergency services

Strengthening rural communities while encouraging smart economic development (ie. Rusk County airport improvements, encouraging and helping small businesses in the precinct and county, and supporting new industry growth).

Being accessible, listening to residents, and representing Precinct 4 with honesty (ie. taking calls after hours, being present in the county on workdays and beyond, and making sure residents get questions and concerns answered with honest responses). I will be a full time Commissioner.

I am not a career politician — I am a hardworking community member who understands the real needs of our county and I believe in servant leadership.
