Today we had an amazing Repair Cafe at Blue Ridge Community College. We had 30 people bring in 53 items and 48 were repaired. The 5 that were not repaired 3 did not have the correct parts and 2 were not repairable. Overall that’s a 91% success in 3 hours. Here are a few photos. Such a great day! I have the best volunteers! They do such a great job while being kind and helpful. Shout out to all of them. 🎉

Blue Ridge Repair Cafe is having an event at Blue Ridge Community College on Thursday August 20th, 2026 from 3:30 to 6:30 in the library of the Killian Building. Bring your items for repair and we will do our best to fix them.
We appreciate donations to help us pay for insurance and supplies. Thank you to the volunteers and to everyone who participates.

On Saturday July 18th, 2026 we had the privilege of having a Blue Ridge Repair Cafe at Through the Trees in Brevard, NC. We had 7 volunteers who repaired an antique lamp, a salt lamp, hemmed 8 pairs of pants, repaired a backpack zipper, and more. In all we had 10 people come by with items to repair. We repaired 14 items. It was a fun day. The people who volunteer for our Repair Cafe are extraordinary individuals. They have skills they are willing to share with others. There is something very special about repairing something and keeping it out of the landfill. A sense of satisfaction settles over all of us who volunteer. It is with great joy we get to contribute to our neighbors and community making a difference while meeting the nicest people. Thank you to all who participated as volunteers and participants alike. ❤️
